What is UVO?

AnswerUVO, short for "Your Voice", is a powerful infotainment system available only in Kia vehicles. First version of UVO, which is available in many 2013 model year vehicles, provided drivers with advanced voice control of the driver's connected media devices and mobile phones and more. Kia has added a new offering called UVO eServices, which adds new services such as 911 Connect, vehicle diagnostic reports and more.

What is the difference between UVO, UVO eServices, UVO eServices with Nav and UVO eServices with Premium Nav?

AnswerUVO provides advanced voice control, 4.3 inch touch screen, rear view camera and more. UVO eServices is a new suite of services, which includes features such as 911 Connect, vehicle diagnostic reports and more. UVO eServices with Nav has the same features as UVO eServices, with some additional features including navigation and turn-by-turn guidance. How do I update my UVO system?

AnswerOnce you have registered your free MyUVO.com account, you will receive notifications whenever a new software version is available for your vehicle. Instructions for updating the software will also be provided.

What is MyUVO account?

AnswerMyUVO account allows owners view vehicle diagnostics, vehicle maintenance needs and more. MyUVO is only available for drivers who own UVO eServices Powered by Microsoft or UVO eServices with Navigation system.

Why is the date and/or time displayed on MyUVO not correct?

AnswerMyUVO uses the time and date set on your smartphone. Make sure you have set the correct time and date on your smartphone.

What is Bluetooth?

AnswerBluetooth wireless technology is a feature that allows drivers to connect their compatible devices without the use of cables. How do I use Bluetooth?

How do I make hands-free phone calls?

AnswerTo make hands-free phone calls, you must have a compatible device that is connected via Bluetooth wireless technology. After ensuring you've met these requirements, press the Push-to-Talk button on the steering wheel and use the commands, "Call [Receiver's Name]" or "Dial [Phone Number]". Can I plug in my iPhone over USB and use UVO eServices?

AnswerNot at this time. To use UVO eServices, you must disconnect the USB cable of your iPhone.

How do I route to a destination?

AnswerYou may search for a destination using the vehicle’s audio control unit. Additionally, you may send a location from Google Maps or your free MyUVO account. Please refer to the owner’s manual for more information.

How do I send a location from MyUVO account to my navigation system?

AnswerLog into your account, select a vehicle, select “My POIs”, select “Add New Location”, search for a location, select a location on the map or left-hand list, select “Add this location” and select “Save POI”. Please note that maximum of 25 destinations may be saved.

How do I activate 911 Connect (Crash Notification Assist)?

AnswerTo use this service, you must have a compatible mobile phone that is connected via Bluetooth wireless technology. To activate this feature, turn on your vehicle, press the Info/Setup key under your touch screen, press Setup on your touch screen, Press UVO eServices, and then select Crash Notification Assist. Please note that there are factors that affect the operation of this feature such as severity of the collision, vehicle battery power, mobile phone reception and possibly more. How do I send a location from Google Maps to my navigation system?

AnswerBrowse to maps.google.com, find a location you’d like to drive to, click on the location’s marker on the map, select “more”, select “Send”, select “Car”, under the “Make:” dropdown select Kia and enter the email address you use to log into MyUVO with. Please note that these instructions may change due to any changes Google may make to any of its services. Please note that maximum of 25 destinations may be sent. If more are sent, the first location will be deleted.
